St James Church, Bermondsey
What's there to see? Said to be the finest of the Waterloo churches, St James's was built in 1829. The elegant classical interior includes extensive galleries, a large painting of the Ascension, a historic organ, and a fine peal of bells.
When is it open? The church is open to visitors Monday 10am-12noon; Thursday 12 noon - 2pm; Saturday mornings 11am-1pm; and Sundays 9.30am-12.30pm.
